Godox Battery Care

August 2, 2024

  1. Always remove the batteries from the flash at the end of the shoot.
(store in a cool & dry location, batteries left in flash equipment will leach power from the battery.)
  2. Don’t store your batteries fully charged!(store them at 50% to 80% of full charge)(don’t fully charge your batteries until 24 to 48 hours before a shoot)(Lithium Ion batteries last longer if not stored with a full charge)
  3. Don’t overheat your Godox batteries. (don’t leave batteries in a hot car/trailer in the summer)(don’t take hot batteries right out of the flash during a big shoot and put them directly on the charger…you need to let them cool off before charging.Heat will damage your battery over time, so try to eliminate heating them up whenever possible.)
  4. Don’t leave your batteries on the charger.(when your battery is charged ½ way put it in storage, or if you are going to be shooting soon, remove it closer to 100%.You risk damaging your battery by leaving it on the charger past 100% and you also risk a fire!!)
  5. Do Not drain your Godox batteries down to ZERO power or Totally DEAD!(the risk is that the charge controller won’t recognize the battery cells because the voltage has gotten to low.)
  6. Do not leave the AD600 charger plugged into the wall outlet while not charging a battery. The AD600 charger draws 4.0 watts of phantom power while just plugged into the wall!!!
  7. Install a smoke detector & Fire Extinguisher (make sure it will put out a lithium-ion fire) near your charging location, best practice is to not leave charging batteries unattended.
